NTI ST-8U KVM Switch Features & Applications

These Universal ST-xU Multi-platform KVM switches allow one keyboard, monitor and mouse to control up to 152 computers. Dedicated internal microprocessors emulate keyboard and mouse presence to each attached PC 100% of the time so all computers boot error-free. Control all network computers from one office. Improve manageability of your computer room - eliminate extra cables, monitors, keyboards and mice. Compatible with all PC, SUN and MAC (with ADB ports) computers, including HP9000, Silicon Graphics and IBM RS6000, SUN Ultra 5 and 10 and any SUN with a VGA or 13W3 video port. NEW NTI USB-SUN and USB-ADB Adapters allow you to connect USB-enabled SUN and MAC hosts directly to the switch. This switch can be powered down without causing host failures on SUN computers. Auto scan all computers to catch system failures early. Broadcast keystrokes to all computers for simultaneous shut-downs. Cascade smaller switches together as your network grows - up to 152 ports.

NTI ST-8U KVM Switch Compatibility

Keyboard Female 8 pin miniDIN connectors. User devices can be PS/2, SUN or MAC. Keyboard & mouse are hot-pluggable. MAC startup keys are supported on all platforms of input devices. SUN startup keys are supported on SUN and PS/2 input devices. Mouse PS/2 mouse connectors to "Y" adapter cable with PS/2 keyboard. PS/2 mouse can be an Intellimouse, the wheel acts like a 3rd button for SUN. SUN 3-button mice are supported. MAC 1-button mice are supported. The second button of a PC mouse is emulated by holding down the COMMAND button while clicking.

Monitor-VGA Crisp & clear 1900x1200 resolution. Female 15 pin HD connectors. A multiscan VGA monitor is required to display the different video outputs from different platforms. Bandwidth is 150 MHz. Hosts Any PS/2-compatibles including laptops, RS6000, SGI and HP9000. Any SUN, including new ULTRAs. All MACs with ADB ports, including MAC Duo Docks and MACs with dongle devices. Any USB-enabled SUN or MAC computer may be connected by using a USB-SUN or USB-ADB adapter. Power 110 or 220 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz. via AC Adapter.

NTI ST-8U KVM Switch Control Methods

Buttons on Front Panel Touch a button and be connected to a CPU or change modes of operation. LEDs indicate currently selected port and mode of operation. Hold any button in for more than 2 seconds and go into Scan Mode, Broadcast Mode or Command Mode. Keyboard Type CTRL+`(accent) and go into Command Mode. Scan Mode, Broadcast Mode or Command Mode are available from keyboard. Use a SUN monitor with 13W3 connector For use with 13W3 SUN or VGA monitor

Cascade 4, 8, or 16 Port Units From One Switch To Control Up to 128 Computers.

To Add Ports To Your NTI ST-8U KVM Switch
Combine 4, 8 or 16 port units together to create a switch with up to 128 computers. Cascaded switches use CPU ports and the remote port on the master switch. Connect up to eight slave units to one master unit.	All switches connected to the master unit must have the same number of ports. Control signal is daisy-chained. Use REXT-SR-xx and standard interface cables to connect cascaded switches.
